Real Bodies Unite is appealing to all those women fed up of being bombarded with unrealistic imagery in the fashion and beauty industry, by launching a global campaign to raise at least 10,000 signatures for the use of body diversity instead.
We need your help to make a change, show your support by signing our petition on the right hand side. All signatures with comments will be listed on the website so don’t forget to say why you believe in us.
The petition will be presented to the fashion houses to prove that women want to see more realistic representation of bodies.
Girlguiding UK found one in two 16-21 year olds would consider surgery to change their appearance.
ComRes found 90% of people agreed that the media and advertising industry should use models with a broader range of body sizes.
We need a huge amount of signatures to make this happen so please sign, we promise not to divulge your details to third parties.
Follow the campaign on Twitter and Facebook too.

I sometimes struggle to get more plus sizes of lingerie for my customers. Hope you guys help make a difference. I filled in the petition for you
I’m sure you’ve heard of Bravissimo and Simply Be – if not have a word to them. I think that so many women try to fit their shape around what’s already there and not their ideal cup size that good measuring tequniques and an extensive collection are what’s needed in this side of retail. Hope that helpsx
Hi Kathleen,
Thank you for your comment, you are right – people need to realise themselves rather than trying to conform to industry “standards”. I will keep up the fight and hopefully retailers that provide the size diversity we are looking for will support us too.
Best Wishes
Sarah
It’s not just about body size and shape. Women (and therefore potential paying customers) come from a variety of ethnic backgrounds too. And some of us – gasp! – are disabled! But we still buy and wear clothes …
Most definitely Jane, this campaign seeks to get people to realise that there needs to be a change in the way women and men are represented in fashion. The term body and beauty diversity is inclusive of all backgrounds, physical abilities and age. We need to see a change and I am pushing for signatures!
